Dealing with Dietary Restrictions

Preparing for every one of your guest’s preferences can be a challenge. Some say it’s impossible to please everyone, but we disagree. Planning for dietary restrictions can take some extra time but pays off once you have a room full of happy guests. You don’t want anyone to go hungry, so take these few preventative measures and you will have your guests talking about your event for years to come.

The Vegan/ Vegetarian

We all have a vegan or vegetarian friend. Even if you are a meat lover, having a hearty vegetarian option at your event is crucial for guest happiness. You don’t have to make this dish the star of the show, but providing an option for both passed hors d’oeuvres and the meal will delight your non-meat loving friends. Offer our goat cheese artichoke with tomato basil hors d’oeuvres as seen on our One Bite hors d’Oeuvres Menu. For an entrée, provide our Eggplant Parmesan or Vegetable lasagna as seen on our Classic Menu.

The Food Allergy

Allergies can be accommodated differently. Since you can’t change your entire menu based on your cousin’s apple allergy, you simply must accommodate her personally. In this situation, you could ask on the R.S.V.P. cards if that guest had any special dietary restrictions and provide them an option from there. This would be able to be carried out in both a sit-down dinner setting as well as a buffet setting.

The Picky Eater

Sadly, even we don’t have a cure to solve your friend who doesn’t like anything. However, we can give you some ideas to make them happy as well. Leaving condiments from items like sandwiches or other meats will alleviate some issues, but your best option to deal with this guest is to provide options.
